Newborn babies grow fast during their first weeks, so here is advice – don’t buy too many clothes. Yes, we know they are super cute and adorable…but it’s better to wait when your little one grows a bit. Depending on how fast your baby grows, you could get 8-10 week out of newborn size (56-62 cm size). So, let’s see what do you need to be prepared to welcome your newborn properly!

Take a few things into consideration:
All time is sleep time for our little ones as they sleep about 18hrs a day (of course those 6hrs when baby's awake occurs when parents are tired and want to go to bed themselves).
How often you need to do laundry? Usually, first few weeks are the busiest for new parents, maybe it is better to have a bit more clothes so you need to do laundry once or twice a week?

And here is a list of newborn essentials:
You can’t skip BODYSUITS. But pay attention at snaps, collar. Choose those bodysuits that have snap fastening, wide neck – it will be easier to dress and undress the baby. Decorations and trimmings are not so important here – first thing is comfiness! You will need at least 4-7 of these. Tip: buy half of newborns size and a half in bigger size.

What can be better than be wrapped in warmth and softness? Especially when you sleep most of your time… What do you have in mind? Yes, PLAYSUITS and ROMPER SUITS. They are great companions both daytime and bedtime. Tip: Choose overalls without complicated snaps. Note: BalticBabies playsuits are designed that to dress a baby would be as easy as possible. You will need 4-7 of these. Tip: Choose playsuits with enclosed feet – your baby feet will be super warm and you won’t need any socks or shoes!

Two piece outfits: PANTS and SHIRT set. Separates allow you to change one piece of dirty clothing without assembling a whole new outfit. It is better to choose shirts that shouldn’t be pulled over your little one's head – trust us, baby’s really don’t like that. Pants also can be worn with bodysuits. Just check the waistband, it can’t be too tight. Have 2-4 of each.

BOOTIES. You will definitely need them when going outside. Also baby could wear soft booties when staying at home. You have two options here: choose pants or overall with enclosed feet or booties. Try both options and find out what suits your baby best!

CAPS. No matter whether it is winter or summer. In winter caps keeps little one's ears warm, in summer cap protects your baby from sun and wind! Have 2-3 caps. Our recommendation: buy at least one merino wool cap – your baby will thank you for it!

SNOWSUIT. You will need it if your baby was born in autumn or winter. This is an essential part when you going for a walk. Buy one good snowsuit and it is enough.

These are the essentials for easy first baby’s weeks. Prepare in advance so you don’t have to stress later. Don’t waste your time going to all these shops, no need to be tired – shop online and take your time before your little miracle comes into this world!
